MEET THE CURATOR Hi I'm John Arguelles and at 65 years old, I am a product of the 1960s. As I look back in time to reflect on my particular sense of curatorial style, I realize I am a mid-century modern man. I've lived in Southern California all of my life and I've had the opportunity to travel the globe on numerous occasions for work and pleasure, which are usually one and the same. I've been an accomplished Corporate and Private Event Producer, as well as the CEO of the Lloyd Klein Couture Fashion House and now for the past 10 years I've been a professional Secondary Market Merchant and Vintage Furniture Lighting and Decor Curator. I've always been able to say, "I love what I do for a living". Truly!

I am a third generation Curator. My mom Toni and her mom, my Little Grandma, Mary are my style icons. It's funny, but I never fully appreciated the decor that I was surrounded by as a kid. Think "Avocado Green shag carpeting" (that had to be raked to indicate to company that it was recently groomed). Turquoise Chinese-modern tufted silk sectional sofas, (encased in plastic protection covers)... and the feather floral arrangements that were made by my mom and her sidekick neighbor, Mabel. They were made in multiples and they were "Hollywood Regency Glamorous" and mid-century madness. Visual Clue: These fabulous feather ensembles would be knockout pieces for Lisa Douglas' home from Green Acres, or Marlo Thomas' New York That Girl apartment or a natural fit in the decor of the Courtship of Eddies Father. They weremade with the intent of selling them at the local swap meet on the weekends. Alas, after 4 months of feather floral arranging and the sacrifice of the garage and the dining room in two households, My mom and her gal pal threw in the towel and ended their budding business. But watching them at the swap meet launched a lifetime of "selling" things in various iterations since then. Although I am not there every weekend, You can find me in my element at a vintage market or pop-up shop or at a local sales event. But the internet has taken this fun hobby to a much more exciting level. I hope you will find some items that make you smile.
